We have taken a lot of time establishing the following Gameplay rules and take them very seriously. They are not designed to limit fun but rather to guide game play within reason. One of the reasons Nuff leagues have become so popular and unique is our effort to play SIM ball and designed to limit cheating and questionable gameplay as much as possible. We all understand that this is an arcade game...and the bottom line is having fun...but we have proven time after time that SIM ball is possible, fun and worth the time and effort running leagues. Most Nuffers step up and I appreciate that...but there are some the have ignored our rules and challenged my word of warning. Not this time. Ignorance of the rules will not be an excuse fellas...it is your responsibility to take the time and read and know all rules. There will only be 30 teams available to well over 100 Nuffers....If it's not important enough for you to take the time to read and follow the rules...then you are not serious about playing and you should allow someone else to play.

MINIMUM/MAXIMUM GAMES PLAYED REQUIREMENT:

YOU MUST PLAY AT LEAST 5 GAMES PER WEEK to secure your team !!!
THE MAX NUMBER OF GAMES IS
8 PER WEEK!!!

Both limits can be changed at anytime by your Head Admin

Though the minimum games per week is 5...you must go with the flow of the league. If the league is playing faster than 4 games per week...you'll have to keep up.

I will be checking the standings...if you are not keeping up with the pace of the league...you may be REPLACED without warning.

One of the biggest challenges I've experienced in running leagues is keeping all 30 teams active. You really put me and the league in a tight spot when you ask me not to boot you and promise to get your games....then when you don't keep your word...the league suffers....I can't have that. It is your responsibility to communicate with your opponents to schedule games. Please take this seriously. Again...I am only running 1 league. And there are over 100 ballas that want in.

STAT AND GAME PLAY RULES

NOTE: ALL STAT RULES MUST BE ADHERED TO
WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE THE GAME

  TOTAL POINTS/Team Shot Attempts/Team Shot Attempts/Player
Min Max   Min Max   Min Max
REGULATION N/A 140   N/A 140   N/A 40
1 OVERTIME N/A 158   N/A 158   N/A 45
2 OVERTIMES N/A 176   N/A 176   N/A 50

  ASSISTS     3 PT Attempts/Team

PIP

Min Max   Min Max   Min Max
REGULATION 20 N/A   15 40   N/A 70
1 OVERTIME 25 N/A   17 45   N/A 80
2 OVERTIMES 30 N/A   19 50   N/A 90

1. Each team CANNOT exceed 40 three point shot attempts in a single game. To do so would be abusive and unrealistic... as well...each team MUST SHOOT AT LEAST 15 three point shot attempts in a single game.

2. Each team
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 20 ASSISTS as a team. We do not want you running around with one player...juking and spinning in the paint for another slam. We also do not want to see 75-100 points in the paint...especially if the scoring is coming from your back court players...PG, SG, SF. If your big men are hot and you are able to score many points in the paint...you should plenty of assists to justify.

3. The Maximum number of shot attempts allowed per team is
112. That is an average of 28 shots per quarter...or 2.8 shots per minute !!!! The real NBA average for shot attempts in 12 minute quarters is 23 per quarter or 92 per game!! So you are getting an extra 20 shot attempts in 10 minute quarters. NUFF SED !! Overtime is the ONLY exception.

4. The Maximum number of shot attempts allowed per player is 40. That is an average of 10 shots per quarter...or 1 shot per minute for 1 player!!!!  Overtime is the ONLY exception.

5. The Maximum number of POINTS ANY Team can Score in a game is 140. That is an average of 35 points per quarter!!!!  Overtime is the ONLY exception.

6. No Team may harass or intercept an inbounds pass
after that teams scores....this only applies if you've scored and your opponent is simply trying to inbound the ball. HOWEVER....YOU MAY HARASS and/or INTERCEPT THE INBOUND PASS IN THE FINAL 5 MINUTES OF THE 4TH QUARTER and/or ANY OVERTIME PERIOD.

The inbounding team
CANNOT throw inbounds pass OR next pass over your foul line!! If you do..you lose the no intercept rule!

Keep in mind...this rule ONLY applies to an inbounds pass
AFTER YOU SCORE.

YOU MAY HARASS ANY "NON-POST" SCORING INBOUNDS PASS FROM THE SIDELINE OR THE END LINE.

7.
NO TRAPPING:   RULE SUSPENDED

Edit as of 11/1/8: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TRAP UNDER THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS

1. YOU CANNOT TRAP UNTIL THE BALL IS PAST HALF COURT DURING THE FIRST 3 AND 1/2 QUARTERS OF THE GAME

2. YOU CAN TRAP ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME DURING THE FINAL 5 MINUTES OF THE GAME AND DURING OVERTIMES.

original rule under suspension until further notice

Trapping is defined by a specific order by the controller (you) to double team a player with the ball and is described when 2 defenders surround the players with the ball.... with their hands up. At times this occurs on it's own....even then...it is subject to this rule.

YOU MAY DOUBLE TEAM A PLAYER by controlling one of your defenders near the ball and NOT calling a trap play. This way you will still have the effect of 2 on 1 defense and the ability to strip the ball. Especially when you are in a zone. You can apply full court pressure on the ball at any time...but it has to be "man to man " defense.

8. NO TEAM CAN SCORE MORE THAN
70 POINTS IN THE PAINT. NO SUBTRACTIONS.

9. HOME COURT ADVANTAGE RULE......During free throw attempts...ONLY THE HOME TEAM can shake to distract the visiting teams free throw shooter. The visiting team CANNOT SHAKE at anytime during the game.

10. TIME OUTS
(SUSPENDED)......Each team MUST call at least 2 time outs in the first half. You may call more than 1 time out per quarter over the first 3 quarters but you will not be able to save your time outs till the end of the 3rd quarter and then try to use them consecutively trying to regain your stamina. Though I appreciate the strategy....that's not sim ball. You will have 3 time outs in the 4th quarter...your players are supposed to be tired !! It is the responsibility of each team to monitor time outs called. It is to your benefit if this rule is followed. If your opponent does not honor this rule...continue the game and AFTERWARDS...notify your admin for resolution.

11. You all are Nuff Colleagues....If you are up by 30 points in the latter part of game...allow your opponent an opportunity to work on his/her plays....Your respect will increase beyond measure and the quality of your league will as well.

Nuffers having to deal with lesser talented teams...or maybe the Nuffer is less talented...either way...they are the BACKBONE of this and/or any other Nuff League. Abusing them would be detrimental to the league. Who wants to come in here and lose by 60 pts just because you are on an ego trip. I wouldn't blame them for moving on to something else...and then you'll be complaining to me that you can't find games.

Running up the score is bad sportsmanship and
WILL NOT BE TOLERATED !!! If you have a 30 point lead...there is no reason to continue steal attempts and fast breaks....sit your stars...get back and run a set defense...and when you get the ball...manage the clock and run some set plays.

Other than massaging your own ego...winning a game by 60 points or scoring excessive points is not impressive to me. What's the difference between winning by 20 and winning by 60?...bad sportsmanship. I will deal aggressively with this issue.

PAUSING GAMES:

Because this is a sim league, it is understandable that you may want to check your stats as the game progresses. That is fine, however...YOU MUST communicate with your opponent BEFORE you pause the game. You
CANNOT pause the game when ball is in play....REGARDLESS of who is in possession of the ball...this INCLUDES FREE THROWS. If you do...you may be subject to player suspensions. The best times to pause would be during intermissions or before an inbounds play. Either way...you must communicate. Excessive pausing will be reviewed by the admin board to determine your value...or lack thereof to the Nuff League.

DISCONNECTS:

It is the responsibility of the team that lost connection to immediately contact BOTH the opponent AND an admin to inform and explain disconnect. If you do not comply with this request, you may be in jeopardy of suffering a loss...REGARDLESS of the score or what quarter your game was in when disconnect occurred.

Any and all "disconnects" or incomplete games that occur between the 1st and 3rd quarters will be reviewed by Admin to determine whether to reset the game or award a win. Both teams may be interviewed on occurrence before decision is made.

Any "disconnects" during the 4th quarter of a game MAY result in an automatic loss to the person who disconnected no matter the score or who was winning. Exceptions include an agreement to reset by both teams.

Global network problems caused by 2K network, and other special cases such as the playoffs will be handled case by case. The general idea will be that if a team is up by more than 20 late...the game will probably stand as is. It is your responsibility to TEXT the score and the quarter of any network error DCs. If the game is closer than 20..it will most likely will have to be replayed unless BOTH teams agree to let game stand.

I WILL BE VERY tentative in simming any games. Especially at the end of the year.

Regardless of reason...disconnects are monitored to locate trends. If we find that you are experiencing too many disconnects...we may need to replace you with someone on the waiting list until you can repair issue. If you have to be replaced...it is possible that you could get back in the league via the waiting list.

VIOLATIONS:

Your first violation will result in probation for a period of up to 30 games as determined by Nuff Officials. If you comply with rules for 30 games, your record will be expunged.

Your second violation will result in a 1 to 3 game suspension of a player chosen by Nuff Officials.

Your third Violation will result in a 4 to 12 game suspension of a player or players chosen by Nuff Officials.

Your fourth violation will result in your Removal from the Nuff League. You MAY have the opportunity to be come back depending on circumstances and my mood....lol

Violations of any rule above MAY result in a loss by your team for the game in which the rule(s) were violated. Multiple violations will cause an admin review panel to explore whether you might need to change leagues...knowwudahmean?

Keep in mind that these game play rules are subject to change WITH PRIOR NOTICE
